Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods has this name for a reason!  It’s beautiful!!  There are miles and miles of trails, and every new turn and angle is just as magnificent as the last.  My family and I drove to get to “Balancing Rock.” Three guesses as to why it’s named that lol!

They tried their best to hold it up!! Well one did, and one supervised haha!  Check out @gardenofthegodscolorado on Instagram to see some spectacular shots of the huge formation.

I don’t live close to any of my family, so to have my brother up for a visit was great!  Just missing my sister and her family to make it complete.  Pictured here are my dad and brother.

So if you’re going to visit Garden of the Gods Park, you can see it several different ways.  Obviously, if you are in to hiking you can spend days on the trail and see parts of it you’ve never visited before.  Just come prepared with proper equipment and especially water.  However, scaling the rock formations as a rock climber is prohibited at this location.  If you are a more casual sight seeing adventurer like me, you can drive up in your flip flops!  There are plenty of parking areas along the several mile drive up and over.  It’s even great for a scenic drive.  Just pull over so you don’t drive off the road!  Best times to go are in the morning, especially if you have little ones like me, but in reality it is beautiful at any time of day.  Sunsets are also very pleasant!
