Twin Things
I get it. Twins are unique! They are fun and interesting and drum up curiosity from just about everyone. I feel bad for any introvert about to have twins because you are going to have to interact with humans like never before! I always thought I liked talking to people until I realized I was never going to go unnoticed again! Just need some milk? Forget it. Instead of a 5 minute trip to the store, plan in an extra 45 min to pause for everyone who wants to ask, “Are they twins?” Or don’t plan any extra time and ignore every question or person and get out of there! But I guess I just don’t have the heart. Honestly it’s nice to have people appreciate the fact that your child is cute and that you went ahead and made TWO of them 🙂 It’s nice to be appreciated right?!
I just didn’t think I needed ‘that’ much appreciation! But it’s just my new normal. And now that I think about it, when they are 15, no one is going to be cooing over them so I better just enjoy it. Now look, you’ve got me all sad! I’m going to the store now…bye! Lol.
They are 21 months old now, and are really at this stage where they understand interactions and loooove to wave to people. It makes them all the more show stopping, but it is so enjoyable to see them joyfully engaging with people and watch people engage back! People you never would have thought possible to smile or wave or even care genuinely react to their sweetness. Now we know why babies exist. But I know I’m not seeing anything new here. I bet you watch this in your littles all the time right?! They don’t care what anyone looks like…they just wave!
So plan for that extra minute at the grocery store, twins or not, and wave to someone!
